Description
Goonies was a movie that I always just thought existed. As a kid I wasn’t aware of movie releases or anything I just saw movies with my dad and sister. My mom sometimes, but she wasn’t very big on movies. Or at least that was my impression as a kid, not so true any more.
I don’t think I saw this in theater, in fact I know I didn’t. I was 3 years old when it came out. I did see it on rental when older, though I can’t tell you how old I was. I just know I loved the truffle shuffle, cause I was a fat kid, and I loved the mutant with the Superman shirt. I was convinced he was some kind of super-hero that I was just discovering. Later in life while reading Superman comics he reminds me of Bibbo Bibbowski. Well, other way around since Sloth came first by about 12 years.
Though I live about 5 hours away from where this movie was filmed, I’ve never been there. Someday I might take the kids down there, cause they love this movie as well. What’s not to love? Pirates, treasure, murder, fat shaming, Superman. It’s got everything.
Originally I planned to go more Goonies art but to this day this is all I’ve ever done from this movie.
If you are curious, it’s done on 6×9 toned paper with micron pens, Copic markers, Prismacolor colored pencils, and gauche paint. I think it took around 4 or 5 hours to complete. the letters where fun, but the folds of the clothes were my favorite part to do.
