Description
It was the summer of 1981, Eddie Van Halen had married future weight loss queen Valerie Bertinelli. Prince Charles married Princess Di, and the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy miniseries aired on BBC for the first time. Ahh, love was in the air. Love was so much in the air that two people came together in a magical moment that resulted in one of them contracting an internal parasite. This parasite lived in her for 9 months before doctors could breach it’s hull and pull it out kicking and screaming. Oddly enough upon removal of the parasite the woman and man gave it a name and took it home with them. They named it J N Horsley III, a name that would plague him for the rest of his life.
This parasite grew into a boy. A boy interested in art, music, video games, comics and movies. This boy grew into a teenager obsessed with music. This teenager grew into an adult the re-discovered his love for art and comics.
In early 2002 jhorsley3 decided he was going to be the next greatest thing to hit the comic book world. He worked on various small projects as an inker, penciler, cover artist and writer for small press outfits that are mostly now all closed down. He was also hired by one Ryan Sohmer to be the artist on a then unknown comic called ‘Least I Could Do’. He drew up the first comic, seen here, got it approved by Sohmer and things where moving forward. After re-drawing the comic page a few times he decided that he was not ready for a 5 time a week comic, so in late 2002 he emailed Sohmer and backed out of the comic and wished him well.
In early 2003 principle production of ‘y2christ’ was started, a script of 22 pages was written and 11 pages where drawn. These pages where never posted online and only printed in the first collected book that is out of print now. And trust me, they suck.
In November of 2003 he moved his ideas to a web-comic format and never looked back.
jhorsley3 has always loved to collaborate with people, and it shows throughout the history of y2cl. He strives to work with talented people and loves to see his work through from start to finish.
These days the majority of his life is filled with family. In September 2006 he started dating a co-worker at the bowling alley he worked at named Kaylie. Five months later they married. Five months after they discovered they were infected with the same parasite that laid waste to him in 1981. Nine months later they welcomed Regan Saidey Marie in to their family to join her older brothers Jakob and Kodi. April 2010 he discovered his wife had once again gotten a parasite and are expecting a new addition in January 2011.
jhorsley3 currently resides just outside Seattle at an undisclosed location and heads the y2cl.net group to create the interesting entertainment you will find littered all over this website.
